A work in progress

Before Thirty

Working title

What happens when you reach the age your younger self once considered fully grown — and realize you’re still becoming?

I’m approaching thirty and writing about the distance between the woman I thought I would become and the woman I actually became.

I’m writing about my twenties, but also about everything that shaped them — family, confidence, caregiving, school, money, healthcare, ambition, travel, relationships, uncertainty, and the strange experience of realizing adulthood doesn’t arrive all at once.

I don’t know exactly what this will become yet. That’s part of why I’m writing it.

What I’m writing about

The distance between the plans and the life.

Becoming, confidence, family, ambition, care, time, and the things I still cannot fix. These are threads, not a fixed table of contents.
