Start where you are

What do you need today?

Movement for real life

Let movement support the life around it.

Movement does not have to look the same in every season. A useful starting point is to notice your context, choose the quality you want, and decide what would be enough for today.

The goal is not to perform wellness perfectly. It is to make room for movement that still feels like yours.

  1. Notice the context

What kind of day, week, place, and energy are you working with?

  2. Choose the quality

Would gentle, strong, social, outside, or flexible support you best?

  3. Name good enough

What is a realistic amount you can choose without turning it into a score?

Healthy Aging

Wellness for the life you still want to live.

I approach healthy aging through participation. Strength and mobility matter because they can support the roles, routines, places, and relationships that make life feel like yours.

For the person helping someone else

Support that keeps the person visible.

Caregiving is not only about doing things for someone. Sometimes it is knowing when to wait, what to notice, what to ask, and how to follow individualized guidance already provided by the care team.

Notice what changed. Ask what needs clarification. Support the established plan. Protect dignity.

Prepare

Bring the useful details together.

Write down what changed, what is harder in everyday life, and what questions need clarification.

Support the person

Keep their voice in the room.

Ask what they want others to know and support the plan already established with their care team.

Support yourself

Name what you are carrying, too.

Notice what could be shared, what needs a conversation, and where outside support may help.

General education and wellness-support inquiries only. This is not physical therapy evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or individualized medical advice.

Wellness questions

A few clear answers.

What is the Wellness Planner for?

It helps you build a realistic week around Move, Nourish, and Recover based on the capacity you actually have. It is a general wellness and planning tool, not an individualized treatment plan.

Is this physical therapy or medical advice?

No. Wellness content is general education and does not provide physical therapy evaluation, diagnosis, individualized treatment, or medical advice.

What if I have a health or exercise question?

You can use the inquiry form to ask whether a topic fits Iris’s educational or professional scope. Do not submit private medical information or use the form for urgent or individualized medical care.

When should I use “Start a conversation”?

Use it for general questions about the site or resources, collaboration or educational inquiries, or to ask whether a topic fits Iris’s scope.

A note from Iris

“Wellness does not have to become another thing you are failing to keep up with. Start with what matters today.”

My work is shaped by experience as a licensed PTA and by the questions I am continuing to study as a DPT student.

Educational scope: Wellness with Iris is general education. It does not provide a physical therapy evaluation, diagnosis, individualized treatment plan, or medical advice.

Make it usable

Turn wellness into a realistic week.

If the goal is movement, meals, recovery, or pacing, the planner helps shape the week without making it another pressure system.
